The Setting – Barcelona:
Barcelona’s reputation needs little introduction. Its Mediterranean lifestyle, nearby beaches, excellent year-round weather, diverse Spanish, Latin and international arts scene, rich cultural backdrop, vibrant nightlife and convenient air and rail connections to the rest of Spain and Europe, make Barcelona the ideal setting for an unforgettable international dance study experience.

The Programme:
Taking place at ESART’s city-centre location, classes, delivered in English, will cover a range of styles and genres including Contemporary, Jazz, Street Dance and Spanish dance styles all taught by some of Barcelona’s top professional dancers and choreographers. The two week programme runs from July 8th to July 19th and includes 4 hours of classes Monday to Friday plus an agenda of social, performing arts, cultural and touristic activities. You will have plenty of free time to unwind with other students on the course and enjoy the city’s culture, history, incomparable nightlife and the beaches of Barcelona, which are just a short metro trip from nearly anywhere in Barcelona.

Who is this programme for?
• Dance students
• Dance teachers
• International schools interested in providing a short study abroad opportunity to their students.

Places on the programme are limited and only 16 students will be admitted to any one cohort. Students interested in undertaking the course for BTEC credit should contact the Head of Dance who will provide the relevant information.

Programme cost:
The course fee is 400€ and includes classes and social activities. It does not include travel, meals or accommodation. Barcelona is easily accessible via low-cost carriers from around Europe and we can provide guidance on accommodation options if that is needed.

Other collaboration opportunities:
During the academic year ESART delivers the BTEC Higher National Diploma as well as a Level 6 top up programme in collaboration with Bath Spa University. We welcome enquiries from schools, educational institutions and teachers regarding exchanges and collaborative development of short, bespoke programmes / study visits to Barcelona (accredited or non-accredited). We can offer unique progression opportunities for schools and for students who have completed their BTEC Higher National Diploma and are interested in topping up to earn their British BA (Hons) in Barcelona.
